Elicia Kennedy

Journalist - Channel 9 Perth

Elicia started her professional life not as a reporter but as a Speech Pathologist. After four years working in hospitals both in Perth and overseas, Elicia decided to follow her love of writing and news. She was awarded a cadetship with The West Australian in 1999, her first position as a general news reporter on a South West newspaper The Busselton-Margaret Times. After one year, Elicia moved back to the Perth news room where she started as a general reporter before moving into business news.

Elicia was offered a position with Channel 9 Perth in 2004. In addition to reporting on general and business news, Elicia compiles and presents a weekly news segment called “Your Money”.

Outside work Elicia spends as much time as possible outdoors. She loves triathlons and when she’s not training, down time is spent sailing with her husband and hanging out down the beach with her much loved dog.”
